I think fuel is part of the business and adding a surcharge would hurt business. Customers are only buying what they have to and are looking for the best deal. I think with a good product at a fair price along with good service I can survive.

Fuel is just part of the "cost of doing business" I cannot see charging a fuel surcharge on top of a sale price. You may have to increase your margins to offset the cost of fuel - hustle a bit more - but it is my guess that a "fuel surcharge" will run customers off.

All of the tool trucks would have to charge a fuel sur-charge, if not the customer would switch to the competition. I am trying more impulse cash sales, such as beef jerkey, candy, nuts, clothing, hats, T-shirts, etc.
