Print ArticleLa Mirada, Calif. — Makita USA Inc., following recent announcements of new sponsorships in off-road racing, has now extended its presence with its sponsorship of Riviera Racing, winner of the 2007 SCORE International Off Road Race Series Championship.
Makita joins Rockstar Energy Drink in their partnership with Riviera Racing. The new Rockstar Makita Riviera Racing Team will feature the familiar glossy black Riviera Ford Trophy Truck in SCORE off-road competitions in Nevada and Mexico, including the Baja 1000.
“The SCORE series features some of the most prestigious and challenging off-road competitions in the world – it’s the best of the best,” said Brent Withey, brand manager at Makita. “We’re happy to be a part of this amazing series with the best desert race team in the business, Riviera Racing.”
“The partnership with Rockstar and Makita is exciting for our program,” said Mark Post of Riviera Racing. “After our success in winning the SCORE Championship last year, we’re stepping up our program in 2008 with these two great companies joining our team, and you can expect to see us challenging to repeat our performance of the 2007 season.”
Recently, Makita began sponsorships of DragonFire Racing, and as the Official Power Tool Sponsor of Championship Off Road Racing, and sponsor of CORR Series racers Team LeDuc, creating Rockstar Makita Team LeDuc Racing.
